This annual event features a free beginners genealogy research class conducted by a registered genealogist, and gives participants access to the research materials housed in the restored 1841 Chester Academy Building; lunch will be available for a small fee.
Also, next door is the restored 1823 Old Meigs County Courthouse used as a museum and open to the public at no cost; this courthouse is the oldest standing courthouse in Ohio, and possibly in the Northwest Territory. Both buildings are on the National Register for Historical Places.
