Join us on Sat., April 9, at 1 p.m. at the National Afro-American Museum and Cultural Center, 1350 Brush Row Rd., Wilberforce, for “A Quest Toward Liberation: Examining Angela Y. Davis.” Presented by Dr. Sharon Lynette Jones, a professor at the Wright State University Department of English Language and Literature. Dr. Jones will share her research on renowned scholar Angela Davis.

Dr. Jones is the editor of “Conversations with Angela Davis.” The book explores Davis’s role as an educator, scholar, and activist who continues to engage in significant social justice work. It features seventeen interviews ranging from the 1970s to the present day. It chronicles Davis’ relationships with such organizations as the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, the Communist Party, the Green Party, and Critical Resistance. “Conversations with Angela Davis” also address her ongoing prison abolition movement’s ongoing work.
