CURIOUS ABOUT WHAT ARCHAEOLOGISTS DO? ASK DR. BETSY! (And she’ll ask me!)
The Creative Learning Factory‘s Dr. Betsy has a series of podcasts mostly revolving around questions about primary sources. Her latest podcast is an interview with me in which I argue that flint chips and broken pottery are important primary sources! For folks used to thinking about documents as the only kind of primary sources, this might come as a surprise, but think about the archaeological record as a story written in artifacts across the pages of a landscape. Take a listen at Dr. Betsy’s webpage. Select the topic “What do archaeologists do?” Maybe it will change the way you think about primary sources. Brad Lepper
