Archaeological investigations at Fort Laurens in Tuscarawas County begin in July. The goal of this project is to locate what remains of the northeast bastion of this Revolutionary War fort, which was damaged during the construction of the Ohio and Erie canal. Preliminary work at the site already has begun and is featured in a story in the New Philadelphia Times Reporter. Stay tuned to the blog for periodic updates on this work, which is sure to add to our knowledge of Ohio’s only Revolutionary War era fort! Brad Lepper
