Volunteers and Interns

Become a History Maker at the Ohio Historical Society by volunteering your time and talent! There are currently over 400 volunteers, interns, and work study students in our Volunteer Program working in 25 different departments at the Ohio History Center in Columbus, Ohio.

Community members can participate in the Volunteer Program for a special event or one time shift, short term projects such as exhibits or educational programs, or on-going involvement providing support to departments year round. Our Volunteers are engaged in every aspect of the Society - the Library, Educational Programs, Collections, and even Adminsitrative and Office asssitance to name a few! The Ohio Historical Society relies heavily upon volunteer support as they truly embody the mission of OHS of connecting with the past to understand the present and create a better future.
