Ohio as America (www.ohioasamerica.org) is an electronic textbook and on-line social studies resource used by more 40,000 of Ohio’s students and teachers in its first year. With videos, links, and activities, the e-textbook offers a new way to engage our tech-savvy children by combining digital access and traditional teaching methods to give students a new way to learn and explore history. Aligned with the Ohio's new Academic Content Standards, Ohio as America provides Ohio teachers with curriculum materials that reflect current state requirements in a way that is cost effective for struggling school districts. Civil War 150th Anniversary
Did you know that the 150th anniversary of the American Civil War began in April 2011? Through 2015, the Ohio Historical Society is commemorating Ohio's significant Civil War contributions through educational programming and outreach to remind Ohioans of the war's importance in our history and to help us reflect upon the war's enduring legacy in our lives.
