Description: The Secretary of State maintained tally sheets, a poll book and lists of electors selected by Ohio troops during the presidential election of 1864. The tally sheets record the troops' selection of electors who will vote for president. The poll book records Ohio troops voting in Tennessee. The tally sheets contain the soldiers' names, regiment, location at which the vote was caste and the county from which the soldier mustered in. One tally sheet reflects Ohio troops stationed in Illinois. Most of the tally sheets come from thirteen counties in Ohio. The counties represent Ashtabula to Seneca. The oversized tally sheets include Ashtabula to Pike and miscellaneous counties.
