The State Board of Education is the policy-making body of public education in Ohio. Its responsibilities include establishing minimum school standards, determining professional requirements for teachers, and operating the state schools for the blind and deaf. Divisions within the agency include: Teacher Education and Certification; Vocational and Adult Education; Assessment and Evaluation; Child Nutrition Services; and Special Education.
