The Ohio Historical Society’s Building Doctors teach old-building owners how to recognize and solve some of the most common sources of problems in maintaining older buildings, and how to make informed decisions about repairs and improvements.

National Register of Historic Places
The National Register of Historic Places is the official list of properties recognized by the federal government as worthy of preservation for their local, state, or national significance in American history, architecture,archaeology, engineering, or culture. A program of the National Park Service, it is administered at the state level by each respective state. In Ohio, the Ohio Historical Society’s Ohio Historic Preservation Office administers the National Register program.

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Recipients of the 2011 Ohio Historic Preservation Office Awards were honored at a luncheon on Saturday, November 12 by State Historic Preservation Officer and Ohio Historical Society Executive Director Burt Logan. The awards presentation recognizes outstanding contributions to historic preservation in Ohio.

Ohio Historic Site Preservation Advisory Board Meets November 4

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio Historic Site Preservation Advisory Board will meet on Friday, November 4, 2011, at 10 a.m. at the State Library of Ohio, 274 E. First Ave., Columbus. At the meeting, the board will review four proposed Ohio nominations to the National Register of Historic Places.
