Glorious Fourth Old-Fashioned Independence Day
Ohio Village, Columbus

Enjoy a leisurely afternoon of old-fashioned family activities to celebrate the nation's independence at our re-created 19th-century village, including a Grand Procession, patriotic speeches, Muffins base ball, a concert by the Ohio Village Singers, dancing, a brass band concert and much more! Hungry? Plan to enter our pie-eating contests, but be sure to save room for ice cream!

Independence Day Celebration
Adena Mansion and Gardens, Chillicothe

Celebrate Independence Day the way they did two centuries ago! You will be transported back in time to experience the holiday like it was celebrated in the early 1800s. Activities will include readings of portions of the Declaration of Independence, patriotic songs and poems, a presentation of the flag, toasts to George Washington, a military display, and more!

Independence Day 1813
Fort Meigs, Perrysburg

Enjoy music, games, musket and cannon firings and more at Fort Meigs, a reconstructed War of 1812 fort. At 2 p.m., see the real 1813 Fort Meigs Independence Day celebration recreated, with an 18-cannon salute, toasts to the nation and fife and drum music.

Independence Day Ceremony
Fort Laurens, Bolivar

Join us for a ceremony and wreath laying in honor of some of the heroes of the American Revolution. Event will include a reading of the Declaration of Independence and members of the Brigade of the American Revolution acting as a Color Guard. Museum will be open free to the public one hour prior to and one hour following the ceremony.

Toledo Symphony Concert Band Independence Day Concert
Hayes Presidential Center, Fremont

Take part in a red, white, and BOOM celebration at the home of the nation's first presidential center. Civil War reenactors join the gifted musicians of the Toledo Symphony Concert Band in a rousing concert of patriotic and popular tunes. Cover your ears and hold onto your chair during performance of the "1812 Overture" which features cannon-fire accompaniment! Come early and enjoy refreshments. Don't forget to bring your own seat for this outdoor event.

Our House, Gallipolis

Enjoy music, homemade ice cream, cookies, pie and cupcakes at Our House, a restored tavern where Lafayette was entertained when he visited Gallipolis in 1825.
