Pleasures of the Cup Series

A delicious way to enjoy history with friends, our Pleasures of the Cup events are progressive cocktail parties that pair authentic adult beverages with stories, characters and the experience of days gone by. Ohio Village Opening Day
May 23: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

What a better way to celebrate the start of summer than with a day at Ohio Village! Step back in time to 1865. We'll kick off the season with cooking demonstrations, stories and visits with your favorite Ohio Village residents.


Storybook Village
June 6: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

You are invited to visit Storybook Village, where your favorite storybook characters magically come to life. Bring your little ones to meet Rapunzel, Cinderella, Curious George and other familiar characters as they roam Ohio Village and interact with children of all ages. Enjoy storytime and take advantage of early literacy and school-readiness resources.

Included with Ohio History Center museum admission. Children age 6 and under are admitted free.

Storybook Village is a collaboration between the Ohio History Connection, Columbus Metropolitan Library and WOSU Public Media.


A House Divided Civil War Reenactment
June 27: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
June 28: Noon - 5 p.m.

Experience life during the Civil War and watch as Union and Confederate forces converge head-on in Ohio Village. Battle reenactments, demonstrations and period music will engage all of your senses for an experience all ages will enjoy.

Included with Ohio History Center museum admission.


The Glorious Fourth
July 4: Noon - 5 p.m.

Enjoy an afternoon of old-fashioned family activities celebrating our nation's independence at Ohio Village, including an 1860's style parade, Muffins base ball, music, dancing and more. Hungry? Plan to enter our pie-eating contests, but be sure to save some room for ice cream!
