Day
1 Robert Rothschild Berry Farm 800-356-8933
Urbana area (contact Miami County) Visit the farm and production
facility located on a 170-acre working raspberry farm. The gourmet
food manufacturing facility produces a full line of award winning
mustards, dips, salsas, reserves and chocolates. Tour the facility or
stroll through the acres of herbs, flowers, and raspberries that blanket
the farm when they are in season. After enjoying your tour, relax with a
cup of coffee or ice tea, and a light lunch in the The Market Cafe.

Cedar Bog Nature Preserve (OHS)

Nature Preserve is the largest and best example of a boreal and prairie
fen complex in Ohio. It has many rare plants and animals, as well as
excellent orchid, prairie, and woodland wildflowers are are convenient
display from the boardwalks.

in the Springfield area . Drive to Clifton the next morning
DAY 2
Historic Clifton Mill 937-767-5501
Clifton(Greene County area) First take a short hike along the
scenic Clifton Gorge where the mill works. Then take a breather and have a
hearty lunch at one of the largest operating grist mills remaining in the
country. Finish your visit with a tour the historic mill and gift shop.
Drive to Hillsboro
Fort Hill (OHS) 800-283-8905
near Hillsboro (Highland County) Fort Hill State Memorial is a
nature preserve containing one of the best preserved Indian hilltop
enclosures in North America. There are 11 miles of hiking trails at the
1,200 acre preserve as well as a picnic area. The museum reopened in the
fall of 2000 after an extensive renovation. The exhibits include a variety
of hands-on and interactive, multimedia displays depicting the geology,
flora and fauna of Fort Hill. Drive to Lancaster area and
overnight.

Day
3 Wahkeena Nature
Preserve (OHS) 800-297-1883 Near Lancaster (Fairfield
County) Wahkeena, meaning "most beautiful" is located on the edge of
the Hocking Hills. The 150-acre nature preserve is used for nature study
and is a preserve for birds and other wildlife. It features interesting
flora, including rhododendron and mountain laurel; and about 26 types of
ferns including Christmas and maidenhair. Eight native orchids have been
identified here, including the showy orchid and pink lady's slipper. At
the lodge, tour groups may view nature study exhibits.
