Harding Tomb Get a glimpse of the homes, birthplaces or memorials of three of the eight presidents that called Ohio home.

Welcome to Lawnfield, the home of James A. Garfield, the 20th president of the United States. In 1880, Garfield added the front porch to the home, which became nationally known during his presidential campaign. Reporters named the home "Lawnfield" because of the wide expanse of lawn on which they literally camped out during the campaign.

Tour the beautiful Hayes Presidential Center, which contains the residence of Rutherford B. Hayes, 19th president of the United States. Besides Spiegel Grove (the residence), the grounds also hold a library, a museum, and the tomb of the president and his wife, Lucy Webb Hayes.

Harding Home and Tomb (OHS)

Warren G. Harding launched himself into the White House in 1920 with his famous "front porch" campaign. The restored Victorian house was built in 1891 and contains almost all original furnishings owned by President Harding and his wife Florence. The nearby Harding Tomb is a circular monument of white Georgia marble containing the remains of President and Mrs. Harding. The simple Doric features and spacious surroundings combine to create one of the most beautiful presidential memorials outside Washington, DC.
