Step In Time: Ohio Military Heritage Tour

From the War of 1812 to space exploration the tour allows your group to explore Ohio's exciting military history.

William Henry Harrison built Fort Meigs on the Maumee River in 1813. British and Canadian troops, assisted by Indians under Tecumseh, besieged the fort twice.
Today's reconstruction is one of the largest log forts in America. The blockhouses contain new exhibits explaining Ohio's participation in the War of 1812 as well as life at Fort Meigs. New at the site is the Museum and Education Center which includes exhibits about the War of 1812 and Ohio’s contribution’s to its country through the wars.

Neil Armstrong Air and Space Museum (OHS)

Named in honor of Neil Armstrong, first man to set foot on the moon, this museum tells of Ohio's contributions to the history of space flight. Among the items on display are the Gemini VIII spacecraft, Apollo 11 artifacts and a moon rock. Try your hand at the site’s space shuttle and lunar landing module simulators.

Drive to the Dayton area and overnight for 2 nights. Drive to Columbus the third morning.

U.S. Air Force Museum

The United States Air Force Museum is the oldest and largest military aviation museum in the world. The museum tells the exciting stories of aviation development from the days of the Wright brothers at Kitty Hawk to the Space Age. Exhibits include over 300 aircraft.

The Center has an exciting exhibit telling the story of the 1940s and WWII -- Kilroy Was Here:The 1940s Revisited . This interactive exhibit will allow your group to share memories of their past as they relive their history. The Center also has a special exhibit dedicated to Ohio and the Civil War.

Dine in the recreated setting of a WWII aero squadron and watch incoming and departing flights from Port Columbus International Airport.

The museum displays many one-of-a-kind items and stories of the men and women who have served their country. It includes a large collection of Civil War memorabilia, including one of the finest collections of Civil War medical equipment known. The museum also includes outside displays as well as a replica of WWI Air Ace Capt. Eddie Rickenbacker's boyhood home.
