1 Campus Martius (OHS)
800-860-0145 Marietta (Washington County) The museum is on
the site of the first organized American settlement in the Northwest
Territory. Founded by the Ohio Company of Associates in 1788, Campus
Martius was a fort that served as home for pioneers while they established
Marietta. Exhibits on the main floor of the museum pertain to this early
settlement and contain many of the original pioneer artifacts.

county) Enjoy a a delicious lunch in a historic setting. The Gun Room
Restaurant has been featured in Ohio Magazine as one of the best
restaurants in the state.
Drive to
Zanesville Stone Academy 740-454-9500
Zanesville (Muskingum County) Erected in 1809, its original purpose
was to serve as the legislative seat for the newly created State of Ohio.
Although the legislature never met here, this was the site of two
conventions of the State Abolition Society.
Beaumont Brothers
Pottery 740-982-0055 Zanesville (Muskingum county) Known for
its pottery heritage, you can’t leave Zanesville without visiting a
pottery factory. Beaumont is known for its Early American traditional
stoneware and salt-glazed pottery.

government, a National Historic Landmark, and one of the nation's premier
examples of Greek Revival and Neo-Classical architecture. Exhibits
highlight Ohio’s rich heritage and early statehood artifacts. Built in the
mid 19th century, the Statehouse received a $95 million restoration in
1996.

Adena State Memorial (OHS)

Thomas Worthington, one of Ohio's first U.S. Senators and the Buckeye
state's sixth governor. Learn about the state's early history and the
frontier through exhibits in the new Museum and Education Center.
Ross County Historical

museum featuring exhibits on early Chillicothe and Ohio, including the
desk used for the signing of Ohio’s constitution.
