Here is the Ohio Historical Society’s premier American Indian museum. On site is an amazing prehistoric Indian garden, filled with plants that helped to sustain these ancient people. A guide describes the gardening practices and the foods made from these plants. After your special tour of the gardens you will want to see the museum as well as the prehistoric mounds located on this scenic historical site that overlooks the Miami River Valley.

Just on the west side of Urbana, Ohio will be your final stop of the trip. This bog is the largest and best example of a boreal and prairie fen complex in Ohio. It has many rare plants and animals, as well as excellent orchid, prairie, and woodland wildflower displays. Your guide will point out such spectacular seasonal beauties as the Lady’s Slipper orchid.
