Nature of Ohio, July 6-10
Discover the wonderful world of Ohio’s natural history at the Ohio History Center. Through hands-on activities and games, campers will learn about our unique natural world. Campers will discover how American Indians and early settlers used native plants and animals, track urban wildlife, and explore our new exhibit, River Works. It’s going to be a wild time!
Village Ventures, July 20-24 SOLD OUT!
The Ohio Village comes to life as campers experience what life was like for children in the 1860s. Campers will enjoy a week of work and play in the Ohio Village and Ohio History Center as they write with ink and pen, play games, do chores, and even cook lunch over an open campfire.
Stinky History, July 13-17
If you think history is all dates and famous people, think again! This camp will show campers the grosser and stinker side of history. Campers will experience the smells of natural dyes, learn how to clean an animal skull, and tour our archives for some fun, and gross history.
History Detectives, July 27-31
Think you know a thing or two about history? Campers spend a week learning that many “facts” about history might be myths. Campers will play games, do hands-on activities, and search our archives to answer questions about the Moon landing and other historic events. Join us for a little history myth busting!
Lights, Camera...History!, July 6-10
You might not see any 12-year-old directors at Sundance, at least not until after this camp! Campers will spend the week creating and recording their own documentary video about Ohio history. They will write the script, gather costumes, work on sets, act, direct, and produce. The camp will culminate with a private viewing of the documentary for families before it is posted on YouTube for the world to appreciate. This camp will put history in the limelight.
