HEN PERRY TO WORTHINGTON

Columbia December 3d. 1811

To Honorable Thomas Worthington.

Dear Sir

No doubt before this time you have had the official account of the battle between Govr. Harrison, and the Shawanoe Prophet; which has created a great deale of Alarm on the western frontiers; and it is reported that a number of boats bound for Orleans, have been taken on the Ohio & Mississippi but truth of it I cannot vouch for; It is to be hoped that Congress will take a firm stand against the British and all others Powers, [illeg.] so Insult us as grossly as I think the Brittish do us)

It appears from circumstances that in all probibly the army will be augmented at the present session of Congress If it should be the Case - and - if consistent with your goodness - I would be glad to have an appointment in the army if their be a Probility of any thing to be done Doctor Campbell & Mr. Morrow I have No doubt but would render me any assistance in their Power &c &c &c

No News of any importance. Mr. Goforth One of our senators; and Cause & abuse the Tammeney - on any Person that will have any thing to say to them &c.
