HARRISON TO EUSTIS Piqua 7th September 1812 No. 10. Sir As it is supposed from the situation in which General Taylor is placed, that he can no longer Act as Agent and Paymaster in the District of Cincinnati I beg leave to recommend for that appointment Mr. Jesse Hunt of Cincinnati, who has been a Merchant and resident of that place for twenty Years. He possesses a very large property and has an exten- sive Credit as any Merchant of that flourishing Town. I am persuaded that the appointment of Mr Hunt, will be very advantagous to the public Interest. I have imployed him to Hire a number of Horses for an expedit- ion and have drawn in his favor for One thousand Dollars to procure the Equipments, I am with Great Respect &c (signed) Willm Henry Harrison 29 |
