Injury
The following is an Extract from the Letter --

"The injunction you laid me under to inform you of every thing interesting to the United Statesand Territory induces me to com- municate to you the Intelligence I have just received from Genevieve by two Channels - a Mr Boisloin whom you have seen and a Mr Carmichael" --

"They inform me that an Express arrived at that place yesterday from new Orleans with Accounts that the French and Spaniards are preparing and indeed determined to attack and take the Illinois Country as far as and in- cluding Vincennes and that a War between the United States and those powers was inevitable"

"Mr Boisloin (who lives in Genevieve) told me that as this Intelligence was public at that place he was not afraid to mention it - he also says that Fort Nogac[?] w as put in the best pos- ture of Defence being garrisoned by 3000 men, and further that the Natchez has not, nor will not be given up - that Captain Guion was to descend the Mississippi the Day the Express left the Chicasaw Bluffs"

I have Sir repeated my most earnest
