some persons to view the Country and
determine upon a proper Situation
for a County Town - And Whereas
a majority of those appointed and
duly authorised have reported unto me
that they have fixed upon a piece of
Ground bounded on one Side by the
Ohio river, and adjoining to a run
known by the name of "Stouts run"
This therefore is to confirm their
Doings in the premises, And I do by
these Presents made patent, Ordain
that the Courts of general Quarter Sessions
of the peace, of common Pleas, Ana the
Judge of Probate for the County of Adams
shall hold the several Sessions of their
respective Courts (decreed by the procla-
mation bearing Date July the 11th. 1797)
upon the said Ground bounded as afore-
said on one Side by the Ohio river and
adjoining to "Stouts run" which has
been appropriated for a Town and recei-
ved the name of Adamsville |
