keep a Tavern in Cincinnati Hamiiton Coun- ty at the house of his present Residence for the Term of one Year. July the 5th. 1796 To Abigail Brown a License was granted to keep a Tavern at the house where she now resides upon the great road from Cincinnati to Fort Hamilton in Hamilton County for and during one Year from the Date. July the 5th. 1796 The following Appointments were made by the Secretary -- John Greer & Thomas McCullough Esquires Justices of the Peace in and for the County of Hamilton. James Dunn Esquire a Justice of the peace in Randolp County vice Janis who has left the Territory -- Elihu Mather Gentleman Sheriff vice Whitesides declined -- John Baptiste le Chance Esquire a Captain of militia vice Janis aforesaid and Henry Beavenu a Lieutenant vice Le'chance promoted - Commissions were issued accordingly. July the 16th. 1796 a License to keep a Ferry for one Year was granted -unto Zenas Kimberly from the Landing opposite the house of his Residence nearly a Quarter of a mile above Short Creeks in the 4th.
