Sir
The riotous and disorderly prac- tices prevailing in this Town which the civil Officers of Government are incom- petent to restrain impel me to call out the militia Guards for that purpose -- You are therefore upon the receipt of this Order to cause a Guard consisting of one Commissioned Officer one Sergeant one Corporal and twenty privates to be moun- ted every Eveg at Sun Setting in some central part of the Town and to patrol the Streets thereof regularly until half an hour after day Light --

They are to take up and confine during the night and bring before me in the morning all persons detected in the Commission of any Act against the peace or to the Terror and Disturbance of the good people of this Territory Given under my hand and Seal this second day of January A.D. 1792 and of the
