I a.m. excited to be serving as a Tech Corps member at the Ohio History Connection in Columbus. One of our most exciting projects this year is creating a sustainable oral history program. Working with others at OHS, my fellow Tech Corps member and I hope to create a program that will last beyond the AmeriCorps program and help preserve the stories and experiences of Ohioans for future generations. We will also be helping other historical organizations with their digitization projects through several workshops throughout Ohio. Through these projects and others, I hope to increase my own knowledge of digital services and oral history and make a positive impact in our communities.

I a.m. serving as a member of the Tech Corps, hosted in Columbus by the Ohio History Connection. My focus will be on expanding the digital presence of the OHS and especially that of local historical societies. Today, even small historical organizations can provide digital access to much of their collections quickly, easily, and on a budget; in my outreach efforts I’ll be taking this view and my technical skills across the great state of Ohio and encouraging groups to look into increasing their online footprint.
