Cultural Resource Management Plan for Newark Earthworks State Memorial |
|
The Ohio Historical Society's draft of the Cultural Resource Management Plan for the Newark Earthworks State Memorial is available for public review and comment. through June 8. The plan will be used by the Society to guide day-to-day operations and for making long-term decisions and plans for the site. It also serves as a public statement of the Society's aspirations of the site. OHS sought broad-based public input for the plan through a 32-member advisory panel.

Historic Homes Symposium May 17 at Adena |

Adena, newly restored Chillicothe home of early Ohio governor Thomas Worthington, hosts a Symposium on Preservation and Restoration of the Nineteenth Century Home, Saturday, May 17, 2003, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Meet curators, craft workers, preservationists, and others who contributed to the restoration of Adena and learn about preserving 19th century homes. Recent Ohio Historic Preservation Office additions to the National Register of Historic Places include the old East Ohio Gas Company Building and First Church of Christ, Scientist, both in Cleveland; the former National Home of the Daughters of America in Tiffin; Elam Jones Public House in Trumbull County; and Raemelton Farm Historic District in Mansfield.
