The Ohio General Assembly passed Senate Bill 165 which requires teaching founding documents of America in their original context. The documents required are:
Declaration of Independence
Northwest Ordinance
United States Constitution (including the Bill of Rights)
Ohio Constitution
In response to this legislation, the Ohio Historical Society created a series of programs and activities to assist teachers in meeting the new requirements outline in the new legislation.
