What Is Conestoga?
Conestoga was established in 1986 to enhance community support for the Ohio Historical Society. To date, its members have raised over $478,000 for the society. Conestoga members can participate in a wide variety of social and educational events, such as:
- Guided tours of historical sites and museums around Ohio;
- Behind-the-scenes private tours and lectures;
- Membership in the Ohio Historical Society, including free admission to all of the Society’s historical sites and a subscription to the Society's award-winning magazine TIMELINE; and
- Discounts at the Ohio History Stores, to name a few.
Conestoga welcomes members of all ages and interests. Membership currently costs $100 for a single membership and $150 for a couple membership. Dues include admission to all regularly scheduled Conestoga social events and educational programs, as well as all the benefits of the OHS History Lover membership.
As a support group, Conestoga plans and organizes fundraising activities, such as tours of historic Central Ohio homes, to raise money for the Ohio Historical Society. Opportunities for involvement are plentiful and varied.
Conestoga members can also elect to purchase optional bus trips to historical sites. These travel packages are not included in Conestoga’s membership dues.
For information on how to join Conestoga, please contact Cynthia Vilardo, OHS Membership Coordinator, at 800.686.1545 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
