Special Events
Community Conversations: Taking Pictures, Telling Stories, Being Human
Thursday, May 1
6 - 7 p.m. Self-guided tour of exhibit
7 -9 p.m. Panel discussion
Photojournalists make many decisions before the moment they decide to click the shutter. Decisions about light, angle and what to include in the shot. But these decisions are not limited to the technical aspects of photography. Photographers must also contend with the human aspects of the events they are documenting. Join us as area photojournalists talk about what it means to take pictures for a living. Sponsored by the Columbus Dispatch, the panel discussion takes place in the Ohio Historical Center’s Arthur C. Johnson auditorium. The panel includes Columbus Dispatch staff: Managing Editor for Visuals, Karl Kuntz, Eric Albrecht, Staff Photographer, 5 time Ohio Newspaper Photographer of the Year, Staff Photographer Chris Russell, 2007 Ohio Photographer of the Year and Staff Photographer Shari Lewis.
