Ohio Village Celebrates Dickens of a Christmas Dec. 12-13, 19-21
Experience Old-Fashioned Holiday Festivities for the Family
COLUMBUS, Ohio, Nov. 21, 2008 – A Victorian Christmas returns to Ohio Village in December as the Ohio Historical Society presents festive holiday events inspired by Charles Dickens’ enduring classic, “A Christmas Carol.”
Dickens of a Christmas takes place on Fridays and Saturdays, Dec. 12-13 and Dec. 19-20 from 6-9 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 21, noon-5 p.m. The spirit of Dickens comes to life through British actor Roger Jerome portraying the author himself, a cast of characters from Dickens’ stories, period entertainment, hands-on traditional holiday crafts, making plum pudding, caroling by the Ohio Village Singers and many more Victorian holiday traditions. Tickets may be purchased at the gate for $12 for adults, $9 for children ages 6-12 years, $10 and $7 for Ohio Historical Society members. Children ages 5 and under are admitted at no charge. For those looking scrumptious holiday meals, the American House Hotel at Ohio Village will serve Dickens of a Dinner on Dec. 12-13 and Dec. 19-20 at 6 p.m., and Christmas Brunch at Ohio Village on Sunday, Dec. 21 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Guests will be greted by the venerable author himself, Charles Dickens while the Ohio Village Singers sing traditional holiday carols. Dinner is $57 per person or $47 per person for Ohio Historical Society members. Brunch is $35 for adults and $15.95 for children ages 6-12.
