The Armstrong Air and Space Museum Sponsors Tri-County Field of Honor (Flag Memorial)
Honoring and Remembering Active Military, Veterans, MIA/POW, and First Responders
(Wapakoneta, OH) – Organizers with the Tri-County Field of Honor are honored to announce that an official
Field of Honor flag memorial will accompany the 40 year anniversary of the Moon Landing this year July
13-20 on the Armstrong Air and Space Museum grounds brining the community together to honor and
remember loved ones.
The Tri-County Field of Honor will be a flag memorial honoring and remembering active military, veterans,
MIA/POW, and First Responders (Firefighters, law enforcement, EMS) sponsored by the Armstrong
Space and Air Museum with the help of local citizens and volunteers along with local veteran clubs, and
local Boy Scout and Girl Scout Troops.
The 3' x 5' flags will stand eight foot tall in perfect rows at the Armstrong Air and Space Museum on the
grassy field at 500 South Apollo Drive, Wapakoneta, OH. Corporate sponsors will fund the cost of the
event and flag sponsorships and sales to the public will raise funds that will benefit the Armstrong Air
and Space Museum, local veterans club organizations, local fire, law, and EMS organizations, and local
Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops. For details visit: www.healingfield.org/moonflags
Flags may be sponsored for $30 each and taken home at the end of the event to continue to tribute
throughout the community as they fly proudly at homes and businesses. Sponsors, donations, and
flag sponsors can be made in person at the Armstrong Air and Space Museum, contacting Becky
MacWhinney, or online at www.healingfield.org/moonflags or at the event. Flags can be dedicated in
honor or memory of a loved one.
The event will run July 13 - 20 with opening ceremony on July 13th and closing ceremony on July 20th.
There will be a variety of programs, entertainment, speakers, and family fun throughout the five days.

Colonial Flag Foundation (CFF), creators of the Field of Honor program is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity established to assist other charities, causes and community awareness issues in making their message and needs known through patriotic displays of flags and memorials. Strict compliance with non-profit, non-political, non-protest principals is the legacy and guarantee of any approved and licensed program of CFF. The local organizing committees for the Tri-County Field of Honor have met all requirements and criteria as a licensed program of CFF.
