Inspired by Movie, Evening Event at the Ohio Historical Center Promises Family Fun

Photo of the Ohio Historical Society exhibit hall featuring the mastodon (COLUMBUS, Ohio) – Ever wondered what goes on inside the Ohio Historical Center once the last visitor leaves and security locks the doors for the night? Spend a night at the museum if you dare!

Exhibits will indeed come to life after the lights go down. See for yourself during “Night at the Museum” June 20 at the Ohio Historical Center in Columbus, a fun take on the new movie, "Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian," starring Ben Stiller.

The event at the Ohio Historical Center begins at 7 p.m. and runs through 11 p.m. Admission is $12/adult (ages 13-59), $9/youth (ages 6-12), $10/Ohio Historical Society member adult, $7/Ohio Historical Society member youth.

"It promises family-friendly fun," said event coordinator Susan Brouillette, "Children of all ages, including parents, will be entertained with fun and games while learning about Ohio's history."

Guests will interact with living history characters from different time periods, from before the days of European settlement to the 1940s and beyond, and participate in fun activities and games. Storytelling and an evening snack round out the evening.

The Ohio Historical Center is located at I-71 and 17th Avenue in Columbus. For more information, call 614.297.2300/800.686.6124 or go online at www.ohiohistory.org.
