Kite Event Takes Off May 3 At National Road/zane Grey Museum
Special Presentation Living History "Frontier to Flight" at 2 p.m.
(NORWICH, Ohio) - Enjoy an afternoon of outdoor fun of flying kites on the grounds of the National Road/Zane Grey Museum May 3 from noon to 4 p.m. Bring your kite to fly or try your hand at making and sailing your own kite.
Flying kites at the museum has become an annual tradition. Dozens of kite flyers come each year. There is no admission to the event; however, donations are accepted for kite-making supplies.
New this year is a special presentation at 2 p.m. A living history program, "The First 100 Years of Ohio: Frontier to Flight," presented by Charles Bell, will take place in the classroom. Come to the performance for entertainment, learning and fun. The presentation is free with museum admission.
Kids can make a Mother's Day gift. This new craft activity is available at a nominal charge of $2. Learn how to make a jumbo paper flower to take home.
Snacks are available by Friends of the Museum at the concession stand. Museum admission is $7/adult; $3/youth (ages 6-12), and free for Ohio Historical Society members and children five and under. For more information, call 740.872.3143 or 800.752.2602.
The National Road/Zane Grey Museum is located at 8850 East Pike in Norwich.The museum is located approximately 10 miles east of Zanesville and approximately 13 miles west of Cambridge, Ohio.
