Hayes Presidential Center offers Easter eggcitement for families
(FREMONT) – Instead of a basket overflowing with sweets, treat your favorite youngster to an Easter memory along with a chocolate bunny. The Hayes Presidential Center introduces a NEW event designed for children and adult companions.
An Easter SpecialTEA takes place 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 11 at the Center’s historic Dillon House. The mid-day time frame makes it possible for Tea participants to also take advantage of the Center’s annual Hayes Easter Egg Roll, which begins at 2 p.m. April 11. The back-to-back events provide a full afternoon of holiday family fun.
Reservations are required for the Easter SpecialTEA. Cost is $25/adult and $14/child. Admission to the Hayes Easter Egg Roll is FREE thanks to sponsorship by Keller-Ochs-Koch-Mason Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Egg-roll competitors should bring three hard-boiled eggs for use in the contests.
The 1873 Dillon House is one of Fremont’s finest original Victorian-era homes. Its elegant interiors are filled with Easter-themed décor for the Easter SpecialTEA. Tea guests enjoy piano entertainment by Tom Hoffert, a leisurely afternoon tea that includes tea sandwiches, tea, and tea desserts, hands-on activities, and a visit from the Easter Bunny, who has a surprise for the children. Attendees also are free to tour the Dillon House. Since the house is not open for public tours, the Easter SpecialTEA is a unique opportunity.
For more information or reservations for the Easter SpecialTEA please call 419-332-2081 or 800-998-PRES. Information also is available on the Hayes Presidential Center’s website www.rbhayes.org.
The Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center is located at the corner of Hayes and Buckland avenues, Fremont, Ohio. The facility is affiliated with the Ohio Historical Society.
