Raymond Lane, Jr. Art Show Closing: Friday April 3, 2009
(CINCINNATI) - On Friday, April 3 from 5 to 8 PM, Raymond Lane Jr., a local artist, will host a closing reception for his original clay sculptures of Harriet Tubman at the new Harriet Beecher Stowe House second floor gallery. This closing event will provide a final opportunity for the community to view this unique collection of original sculptures in uniquely historical setting. Children, students, teachers and adults are encouraged to attend this art show featuring images of Harriet Tubman on the Underground Railroad. Admission is free. All donations are welcome.
Raymond Lane, Jr. studied at the Art Academy of Cincinnati and has taught courses in sculpture at the Greater Cincinnati Arts Consortium as well as local community and recreation centers. The original clay sculptures depict various scenes with Harriet Tubman helping runaway slaves escape to freedom.
From December 1 through April 30, the Stowe House is open from 10 AM to 2 PM Saturday and 10 to Noon on Wednesday. All visitors are welcome. The Stowe House new second floor gallery is available to new displays of original art. For additional information please contact:
