Mark Okey is a retired attorney with thirty years of service with The Okey Law Firm in Canton. He retired from the firm in 2006 as Senior Managing Partner. He served as the President of The Stark County Academy of Trial Lawyers during his tenure in Canton.  He also worked for the Law Firm of Stoneman and Okey in Carrollton during 2011 and 2012, concentrating on oil and gas law. In 2013 his son opened the Okey Law Offices with offices in Columbus and Carrollton for which he is now serving in "Of Counsel"status.

In 2006 Mark entered the political arena and ran for State Representative for the 61st House District covering all of Carroll County.  He won election and was re-elected twice. He served in the Ohio House of Representatives for six years.He was the Chairman of the Ohio House Civil and Commercial Law Committee during his second term in office. Deciding not to run for re-election to a fourth term, he ended his state service in 2012.

Mark’s family moved from Maryland to Ohio in 1800and established themselves in what was to become Monroe County. He comes from along line of public servants. His ancestors served in numerous public offices at the county level and that includes two State Representatives and a Chief Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court.

Mark and his wife, Kathleen live in Carrollton. They have three grown children, and four grandchildren.
