Status

The Charge to the Digital Document Imaging Subcommittee is as follows:

a) to create a set of guidelines for imaging material that has a retention period of less than ten years

b) to create a set of guidelines for imaging material that has a retention period of greater than ten years

c) to consider if documents with retention periods of greater than ten years should be destroyed after imaging; if so under what criteria?

The Imaging guidelines were approved by the ERC at February 15, 2000 meeting. The Digital Imaging Subcommittee is currently inactive. In February 2003, a subcommittee was formed to revised the Digital Imaging Guidelines. On June 26, 2003, the ERC approved Revised Digital Document Imaging Guidelines.
